Is This You?

Scenario 1: “Something’s missing…”
Maybe at first this is just a fleeting thought or dim awareness. Maybe you’ve done well for yourself; you’ve got a good job and a decent marriage, but…it feels like something’s missing. Maybe you have thoughts like “Is this all there is? Is this IT for the next 20, 30, or 40 years? There must be more to life than this…”
Maybe you know what’s missing and for some reason, you’re not addressing or pursuing it. Or maybe you have no concrete idea about what needs to change; but you’re left with a vague longing for something. Maybe you catch glimpses of it from time to time; a phantom that disappears just before you have it in reach…
Something’s missing–and together, we may discover what that missing piece is, and more importantly, learn how to claim or reclaim it for yourself.
Scenario 2: “I don’t know whether to stay or go…”
Are you currently in a job or a relationship that you feel is killing your soul instead of feeding your soul? Have you had one foot out the door for the past few months? And are you reluctant to leave because the job or relationship meets at least a few of your needs?
Making the decision to leave an unfulfilling job or relationship can be difficult. It’s not always possible to move from something that feels familiar and stable to something else that feels comfortable. Sometimes you need to take a risk and go through a few weeks or months of instability or even what may feel like chaos.
I can help you take a closer look at your job or relationship and help you make the decision about what is worth keeping and what needs letting go. And I can be there with you through your time of transition. Grounding yourself with certain practices and structures can help you move through life changes with more grace and less fear.
Scenario 3: “I feel like a fraud…”
Do you feel tired of making an effort to fit in? To a relationship, to a job or career, to a way of life? Are you stuck somewhere that just isn’t YOU? Are you looking forward to a time when you can just be yourself and no longer have to pretend to be something or someone you are not?
It can be incredibly liberating to reclaim your own true nature. Of course, it will probably involve making some changes, going through what may feel like rapids to reach the smooth, calm water on the other side. As therapists often say, “the only way out is through.”
That’s where therapy steps in to help and support you through the uncertainty of life changes. I’m here to provide not only emotional connectedness, but different perspectives that you may not currently be seeing. I can help guide and support you through whatever changes you feel you need to make in order to live a more fulfilling life–a life in which you are true to yourself!
